Chauffeur in Corona times

MyFutureDrive airport transfer and chauffeur in times of the corona virus.

After it went unnoticed for weeks, the “coronavirus” (more precisely the lung disease COVID-19, triggered by the until 12/2019 unknown coronavirus SARS-CoV-2) has been the topic at the beginning of March at the latest, which hardly anyone can get past. New suspected cases are reported every day, more and more infected people are confirmed, and thousands of people worldwide are now dying from COVID-19 every day, with previous illnesses and old age playing a major role.

Measures have been taken in many countries to slow down the spread of the virus, which is still difficult to assess, out of the justified concern of overloading health systems. These measures have a huge impact on everyday life. For example, all public facilities such as schools and kindergartens in Bavaria were closed on March 16, 2020. On March 22, 2020 there was an agreement between the federal states and the federal government on a nationwide “comprehensive ban on contacts”. To reduce social contacts, for example, a minimum distance of 1.5 m must be maintained when meeting in public spaces.

Of course, this affects not only private life, but also professional life. While some people, e.g. In hospitals, which have to work almost continuously, some in the home office have shut down to almost a standstill.

MyFutureDrive is one of the driving companies that is feeling the “corona crisis” very clearly. Because the main business, the airport transfer, has almost completely come to a standstill. But while the competition often wails, we think about enjoying the extra time with the inner family and working towards a time after the crisis, which must and will exist. The “Driving Services” market will then have cleaned itself up, which I personally find not bad. A large dispatcher, namely from Sixt, has probably quietly shut down his chauffeur and limousine service forever (Spiegel.de, 4.4.2020).

We at MyFutureDrive now work daily on the website and on organizational optimization. Of course, we immediately took measures for our passengers that included many hygiene conditions: cleaning the vehicles after each trip, wearing a mouth-nose guard by our drivers and providing a mouth-nose guard for our passengers. We refrain from gloves and plexiglass panes between the driver’s area and the rear seat. According to all knowledge, gloves are more of a hindrance than effective. You weigh yourself safely, your skin sweats and bacteria have an easy time of it. Our drivers wash and disinfect their hands regularly and do not touch their faces (the mask reminds us of this, by the way, so it is helpful for that alone). A built-in plexiglass window poses an enormous risk in the event of an accident, and installation is a gray area, as it is actually not permitted, but only tolerated. We think masks are much safer.

Overall, we hope and think that you, dear customers, will continue to have confidence in our professional chauffeur service and will be happy to join us again if the restrictions of everyday life can be relaxed and business trips and vacation trips are possible again. Even then we will still be concerned with hygiene and the virus and it may be time for one or the other to switch from overcrowded public transport to our individual service. Of course more expensive than a train, but significantly cheaper than a taxi, we could be a safe and sensible alternative to how people want to travel in the future.

Our personal opinion is that it is now important to adapt to the new situation without panic. We humans have done this so many times, even if it was usually not easy.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please write me or give me a call. I’m currently mostly at home 😊
